Hi all,

I have a problem with importing graph into Microwave office and hope that someone can help.

I have receive some impedance measurements for an antenna. The data of real impedance and imaginary impedance are in seperate files. No s1p files. How do I import it into microwave office to plot it in the smith chart. I have tried putting them into a text file 1st column freq, 2nd column real and 3rd column img and imported it into MWO using raw data. However, when I try to plot the smith chart, MWO keep saying measurement not compatible with graph type.

Anyone has any ideals what I've done wrong here. Your help will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Hi Element7k,

If you allready prepared the text file with the 3 colums, add the standard header for the snp files ( for the touchstone format definition see the link below, or search in the mwo help), and you can import it as a s1p parameter file. (you rename the extension to s1p).

for example:

!FREQUENCY (MHZ), REAL S11 (OHMS), IMAGINARY S11 (OHMS) NORMALIZED
!
# MHZ Z RI R=50
50 3.799 -0.5294
300 2.2144 -1.7168
500 1.3078 -1.5144
750 0.7558 -1.0924
1200 0.3268 -0.489

the line in red is mandatory, the comment after all lines started with ! are skipped, so you can put there your remark, notes.

I hope this info is usefull.
