Microchip pic

Hello good ppl!

Are there any pics in dip format from microchip, that are compatible with ubicom's sx18 and run at 50Mhz?
Thankyou very much!

marmelado

PIC16F84 is pin compatible with SX18, but it only run at 20 MHz. You'll not find any PIC that runs at 50 MHz.

are there any alternatives for sx18 in dip format (excluding sx28)

I want a microcontroller should i use?
i need one that can run at more than 50mhz and compatible with sx18/28
Thanks in advance!

Hi Marmelado,

don't forget that PIC instruction is only one cycle, 4 clock period equivalent.
so a 40MHz PIC (100ns by instruction) is fast enough for lot of applications.

Look 16C5x, 16C6xx and 18Cxxx or 18Fxxx family.

beuch
