micro stripline pcb

I plan to route micro-strip line based Gysel combiner, wilkinson combiner. The dimensions for resulting characteristic impedance are taken from Appcad, Txline (both free). These software assume ( am I correct) straight trace and generate parameters accordingly ( for ex: 0.25λ length). Whereas actual PCB will be routed with bent traces as per required dimensions.
Can experts guide me if any further considerations to be taken when routing traces of micro-strip line on PCB other than straight. Any thumb rules...
Thanks in advance for reply.

Re: micro stripline pcb

Hello gprabha,

Yes See the attached document on recommended Bends for PCB designs..
The same concept can be used for Power dividers & Combiners...

Or use the professional Circuit Simulator Such as Microwave Office (MWO) to completely design & simulate these ckts...

Re: micro stripline pcb

Thanks for the message and attachment. In fact, I came across a site in "MICROWAVE101.COM" with thumb rules for micro strip line which specifies, bend radius above 3 times of width is recommended for below x band usage. These links would be useful to interested members.
