Yes, because it applies DC voltage to the sensor. Doing so for a few seconds probably won't hurt, but DC must be strictly avoided in the measurement circuit.

That will make the circuit more complex for simple job, may increase the production cost.

Yes. How do you read this datasheet statement: "Do not apply DC voltage or DC bias."
