Hello everybody ,
How can I measure distance accurate between two points ? Some cheap variation ? Distance < 25 cm.

Re: Measure distance accurate betwwen two points

What are the two points? How accurate? What's an acceptable cost?

Re: Measure distance accurate betwwen two points

you have not specified your problem completely. but i think Ultrasound transceiver + µController can do the job..

Re: Measure distance accurate betwwen two points

One point is fixed , another is moveable . Two points is inline just distance is different . Accurate 1 mm.

Re: Measure distance accurate betwwen two points

You can use an ultra sonic tranceiver or ultra sonic distance sensor (the 2nd one costs more..). in 2nd case you get distance as output (serial o/p, PWM o/p ...) but i am not sure about the accuracy. i have seen distance sensors with 3mm accuracy. In case of using ultra sonic tranceiver, you have to interfacing and extra coding. The accuracy depends on your micro controller and ADC.

pff need some sensor for auto leveling headlights , the sensor for suspension and coupe ..

Someone to give a idea ..

Re: Measure distance accurate betwwen two points

Ultrasonic ranging requires that the sound wave be reflected off a surface. dcom12 has not stated any surface...just "points".

Do you need a contactless measurement ?

thank you.. that is correct.. i didnt actually notice that. but it has to have a surface, even if the area is smaller.
