meaning of boost inductor

can any one tell me what is the difference b/w inductor and boost inductor and significance of it
 

I assume that this question is with regard to a switching power supply. The boost inductor is an inductor. "Boost" refers to the function that the inductor performs in the circuit, in this case, to boost (raise) the output voltage to a value that is higher than the input voltage.
