Hello Everyone,

I am currently working on a project that needs a variable resistance controlled by a MCU. My problem is that I am going to use the project in a 8Amps rated circuit. Is there any circuit that I control and vary its resistance via MCU with high rating and at the same time protect the MCU from getting burned?

Like for example. A simple voltage divider where Vin is dependent from the output of the MCU (say 5v) and convert this output so that it can be used in 8Amps rating.

Looking forward of hearing from you guys.

Best Regards,

Jay

As u are controlling variable resistor with mcu so make it independent from other system, use
a heat shrink sleave of 2inch length, a multiturn variable and small dc motor. connect dc motor
with variable resistor with sleeve and control dc motor with pwm.
