Maximum Memory Usage?

Hi all,

on RTOS like ST20 OS, how to determine the maximum usage of RAM?
the system now use 16 MB of SDRAM and we need to know what is the
maximum of memory usage to reduce the size of RAM in order to reduce product
cost

any memory analysis tools or something helpful ??

AA,
I guess you are doing set-top boxes. Anyway, cost reduction mostly comes from reducing the size of your ROM/Flash on your board. SDRAM of sizes less than 16 MB is not that cheaper than the 16MB (review memory manufacturers websites). Go for the ROM/Flash size reduction first.

the flash size is 2 MB only
but the SDRAM is 16 MB
the target is to reduce it to 8 MB only
the decision of reducing the size of SDRAM is NOT my decision, it is the request of my boos from his boos
in production lines it will differ Amr

AA,
This is hard to solve & it seems you do not have tools to solve this issue. you need to know your image size + max stack usage + max heap usage. Can you do this?
