Matlab Simulink signal type mismatch auto-correction ??

Folks:

I am learning simulink.

I found one demo, downloaded from web, contains a lof of signal type confliction in my view, however, could run easily in Simulink.

For example, it contains connecting a logical "OR" block to a "delay" block. When I copied above connection into my own models, Simulink reported that can not connect Bolean to delay, it accpets only double.

My question is that why the demo I looked could be immune to this kind of error? any switch to control it?
