I would like to develop an algorithm for a realtime calculation of vector graphics into single points for showlasersystems. To do this it would be a good idea to simulate the algorithm with a complete scanningsystems (galvanometer and amplifier) for example with Matlab. For this I need mathematic models of these scanningsystems. Do you have such models and could you provide me these?
I'm sorry until now I didn't find anything about it. I send emails to "GSI Lumonics", "Camebridge Technology", "Laserworks" and "Scanlab" for one week without any result.
Re: Mathematic models of scanningsystems (galavometer and am
Hi Cube007
Well i'd like to disclose my project ...But then i will have to kill you!
On more serous note .. What i'm triying to do is to desing a very, very
very cheap galvanometer , For that i need to model the entire mechanisme & system ... I searched long time the net and i didn't find any models . So now i'm trying to find some SPICE or vhdl AMS models
Iwill try to modified them ... But is going to be hard .Because galavnometers have a return mechanism (spring) and all that has to be simulated ..
I even searched the US patents .but nothing .. I wonder if those galvanometers are copyright protected ...
Anyways it will take some time .. !
Re: Mathematic models of scanningsystems (galavometer and am
I forgot to say ..
It looks like probably the best way to do this is with a tool called SIMPLORER .. I started learning the student version . Now i'm looking for the full BLOWN .. so if you know .let me know.

Hi there,
What im trying to do is a cheap laser scanner with a x,y galvo-scanner. The scanner you can buy are very expensive, so im very interessed in your project. I'm also thinking about build my own galvanomter, but i've no information and idea yet. I acctually wanted to buy a galvanometer and build the driver, but if they are that expensive... I'll let you know when I've some news.

at the moment my project is sleeping. What I wanted to do is do build a self made driver. For a galvanometer you would need a very expensive equipment to build a device with a very good accuracy! The accuracy and the speed are the main reasons for the high price.
Perhaps I will restart the project later (some months, some years …).
