The device is a small magnetic agitator for an amateur chemist.
The agitator works on 12V and it's made of plastic and wood. The neodymium magnet is from a hard drive. It's glued to the bottom of the fan. The steering system is viewed below – it's based on lm317 from Uniwersalne Minizasilacze | Mirley - Elektronika i Programowanie
Mixing element is made of two magnets and a dead DVD recorder. As a protection, a piece of silicone tube was used. The silicone was chosen because of its specific features: its resistance to solvents and acids. It was melted with a lighter and the magnets were closed in it.
As it is viewed on the first image, the agitator can mix water in a half liter mug.
