lumped RLC model in hfss

HI,
as i am new to HFSS and right now im using HFSS13, i want to design an antenna equilent of parallel simple RLC. i dont know how to do this. please tell me if anyone is having any tutorial about it. and also tell me how to model resistor , inductor and capacitor one by one?
i also want to know if i can design its series equilent in hfss ?

Hi ,

open hffs and see the tab HFSS, then Boundaries/assign/Lumped RLC.There you can enter some values.
This is all what i know( i'm not working with the hfss , my colegue does).

lumped elements are designed like lumped ports in HFFS. First you have to create a face (rectangular, ...) between the two connection points of your lumped element. Then select the face and choose 'Assign Boundary' -> 'Lumped RLC'. There you can choose the parameters (R, L, C). At the end you have to create the 'Current Flow Line' which gives the endpoints of the element on the face.
 

its very helpful while listening to it. but u know i m new to the designing. so i dont know about the small things like current flow line and all that. it would be better for me if u please give me something short tutorial just to make a simple RLC or just RC circuit equilant.

how to create the two connection points of a lumped resistor?
 

for example if you have two lines, with a gap between, on a substrat (the substrat and the lines are create by 'Draw->Box', for details see help in HFSS). then you make 'Draw->rectangular', which creates a 2D sheet. The sheet has to fill the gap between the lines. After that you can click on the sheet and select 'HFSS->Boundaries-> Assign->Lumped RLC'. For the Current line open the list on the right (item selected by default: 'undefined' ) and choose 'New Line'. Then select the two connection points of the element in the drawing window on the sheet. You will see a red arrow on the sheet.

For the first steps in hfss (making objects and so on) search for tutorials in the web, there are some like making a dipole. For a lumped port (e.g. lumped RLC) you can look at : **broken link removed**
