LTE - Cooperative Communicatios

I'm interesting in simulate some techniques of Cooperative Communication in LTE.
But i don't sure about the advantage of use NS3 or Opnet.
Someone could give me a good comparison link between the LTE modules, or give me your advice about this.

I will suggest you the best will be OPNET for LTE simulation. what you want to actually achieve please elaborate.

I want to prove some multicell cooperation schemes, as MIMO Network or CoMP.

It means cooperation is not a useful thing in LTE or LTE-Advanced ?
