So i am making a circuit wherein I need to power a keyboard, which is using a single AAA NiMH rechargeable battery, and be able to store also in a large capacitor (0.1F used in my setup don't know yet what is the most suitable capacity) for maybe prolonging the onboard battery. I used the LTC3108 in my search of a good energy harvesting and management solution.

Assuming that I can generate around 3v DC that serves as the input, can I charge the AAA battery? I can't really confirm it because after doing my data in the picture below, I tried using the battery as the load of Vout (1.2v 1100mAh Akari rechargeable) and the Vout drops to the same voltage as the battery (1.2?? V). I'm guessing that is because a lack of a directional diode?

Also, when the battery is attached to Vout, the large capacitor is not charging.

Can you help me with this circuit? Thanks.

You need a charger IC or LDO between 3v DC and the battery.

Hi leo_o2!

What do you mean? There is a VLDO pin for LTC3108, can that be used? it's a constant 2.208v for the LTC3108 though
