When I draw layout ,I find that there have no layer information in the LSW.Why?
Should i write the technology file myself?
If I have wrote a technology file in a text editor, how to compile it to ASC II foemat?

The library you are drawing layout with has no layers set visible. You should modify the technology file, either by GUI method or edit the ascii technology file and compile it into the library.

How to compile the ascii technology file into the library?

For ic 4.4.x, there is a submenu "Technology File" in the CIW's main menu bar. Select "Load ..." or "Compile ..." (I can't remember which one is the name) submenu.

For ic 5.0, select "Technology File Manager" from the "Tools" submenu of CIW. Then click "Load...".

for ic 4.4.x, when I load the *.tf file, but i can't load new *.tf, and i only find old library. why?

I am afraid I don't catch your meaning.
Let me assume you have four libraries: A, B, C and D. Do you mean when you load technology, library D is not in the selection list? This is due to library D has no technology file. It is attached to another library. You may check library D's properties to see which technology library it is attached.
