Hello,

For my project, I have to interface a 4MB (Flash/EEPROM) memory to 89V51RD2BN.

I suppose, there is only 1 way to interface memory to 89V51RD2BN and that is SPI (as it is inbuild :-D)

Can anybody please tell me which low cost memory should I go for?

wanna go even more low cost???....Want a simpler solution???....ok do this...on either port 0,1,2 connect the pullup resistors to 3.3 volts instead of 5 volts...and connect an SD card to it via a buffer u can get from Texas Instruments-free samples ....THE SD PROTOCOL HAS A PATENT ON IT....so u'll have to run the sd card as an mmc card(really simple)...connect the sd card to the pcb using a molex connector(avl at element14 )....and ur done....it's that simple......
WANT SIMPLER???....
ok here's what u do....get MIKROC compiler for 8051 ....It has inbuilt sd card libraries and reference designs on their website as-well...mikroe.com.....connect the ckt....call the functions given in the IDE ...compile the project....flash ur ic..... and ur done :)
Want simpler???....
:-( Sorry.....it doesn't get simpler than this....
Cheers...
