torroid or other core

we hv made dc-dc smps powersupply 12vDc to 27-0-27. We used chinese torrodoil core. It is working. But i want to know which will be best core for my application?

probably pot, X or E core.

Hello

You better use ETD cores, they have much better parameter values, and can be easily wound, also they are space savers !

Instead of indicating particular type of magnetic core it is wiser to look in some sites such as this one:

At this stage we just don't know what is the frequencyand power/current in the discussed circuit.
