Looking for solutions for less bandwith usage

Hi everyone
If anyone can help me on how to interconnect workstations using a minimum bandwidth. As I have this project to connect 3 remote workstations to a server but what happen is that the remote workstations takes up too much bandwidth inorder to work properly.
So if anyone have any idea on what should I do would really appreciate that.

Im using Ethernet to link the workstations to the server, however Im accessing the server with a software(a client software) but when accessing the server it takes quite sometime as it needs to download some files from the server first (just like a remote desktop)and this process is very slow but after that then working with the software and the server is fast but only the initial process is the problem which I want a solution for. what i want is how to make this initial process fast with a limited bandwidth.

Remote TCP connections are usually utilizing compression, at least it's a standard for PPP connections. The problem is most likely caused by an ineffective application design. A similar problems is with some web pages, that load Megabytes of superfluous images etc.

Can you please suggest some solution which might resolve this problem?

Im using Attache software(accounts software) which is installed in a server and its client software installed on each remote workstation but this client software requires quite large bandwidth in order to perform fast but since im using a limited bandwidth of 128kbps the process is very slow, so how can i achieve getting the client to perform fast but with that limited bandwidth.

You would want to ask Attache support for their suggestions about operating the software over low bandwidth connections.
