Hi!
I think you can download demo versions of codevisionAVR (www.hpinfotech.ro), ImageCraft ICCAVR (www.imagecraft.com) etc (try google), which all have huge amount of samples. And I forget mention free WinAVR C compiler, www.avrfreaks.net has much projects.

Check the following link there is a library with C functions for AVR microcontrollers. Its very usefull.
