Hi,

are there any public domain or GNU licensed FPGA design tools? if anyone knows about them please let me know.

If you want gnu ( to understand the internals of the tools also ) => https://www.staticfreesoft.com/

But if you mearly want to synthesis a few designs to get a hold of the process go to xilinx.com and download their fpga software .. it's free but its NOT gnu .
