power supply schematic

If somebody has a 12V/40A(minimum) power supply schematic(not switched mode), for car amplifiers, please post in the forum, or contact me.

Thanks

Re: power supply schematic

Here is a schematic of linear regulated power supply: **broken link removed**
I think it was originaly designed for 25A, but by changing some components and adding more parallel power transistors you can easily achieve 40A and more.
For example, bridge rectifier is rated at 35A - increase it to 50A; next smoothing capacitor should have at least 1000µF/1A, so if you need 40A the capacitance should be at least 40,000µF..

Re: power supply schematic

A transformer of this size is very expensive! You will have a cheaper solution if you use a car starter battery! Just add a simple charger.
