Keyboard scanner

is there anywher a design of a pc keyboard scanner available? The idea behind that:

Something in the size of an intermediate adaptor, probably an external box (maybe matchbox size), will be connected between keyboard and pc and scans / collects / samples any keystroke for some time.

By disconnecting this device, you are able to read the stored keystrokes and to interpret them.

The amount of storage might not be the general problem, if this device is "remote contollable", that means that it activates itself by pressing some key and stop storing by presing another key ...
