Looking for a low cost digital/analog compass

need compass

For my robotics project i need a low cost digital/analog compass.I found datasheet 1450 digital compass but it will detect only 8 direction.I saw datasheet of 1525 of analog devices but it didn't give its resolution.So please help to find a good low cost compass.

Search philips site thay have magnetic flux compass chip

There has been threads about digital compass before on the forum, search and you wil find some info.

Check for example:


If its for one robot and the aim is not to develop the compass I would go for some module.

with Hitachi HM55B sensor from
www.parallax.com

with Philips KMZ52 from
