yes this is a good topic to start.this would be useful for many users of the forum.let me put my tests of software with platforms which i have installed.

magma 3.2,4.0 ----RH7.2,7.3,8.0--->WORKS
magma 3.2,4.0--FEDORA CORE 2--->NOT WORKING
Synopsys Synthesis 2003->gui problems with FEDORA CORE 2
Synopsys Synthesis 2004->FEDORA CORE 2,RH 8.0---> WORKING.
CADENCE IC 5.0141--->FEDORA CORE 2,SUSE 9.1


P.S:I HAVE ONLY MENTIONED THE PLATFORMS ON WHICH I HAVE TESTED THE SOFTWARE .
