lmhostid linux

In linux platform, there is some difference between hostid and lmhostid command.

And EDA tools can read hostid number from lmhositd command.

How can I change lmhostid to which I want?

Thanks very much!

linux hostid

Hi All :
share some experience

I use "hostid" command in linux is get 7f0100
my all machine is same

and i active my license daemon is tell me 7f0100
is diffence MAC address

so I find the lmgrd is protec MAC address not hostid
This is PC base for x86 :)

Alcohol

7f0100 hostid

But how can I change the number from lmhostid to which I want?

hostid lmhostid

There is no real hostid in Linux. EDA house use a dongel to simuluate the host id. The license issue to a customer base on the ID of that dongel

change lmhostid

which dongle ???
