Could anyone please help me make a program using MPLAB for a line following robot using 877A? I'm kind of lost on where to start or how to start. If anyone could please help me out, that would be great. We're still in our Microcontroller class and I haven't got a single clue yet on how to start the program. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Just do a google search on the subject there is loads of information out there, partic on ytube.

That's what I'm doing right now. Went to a particular site to ask information. Most of the videos from youtube are those that actually ran already.

I still need answers for this. Anyone could help me?

Is there an English translation to this? I also need a program to this schematic. Thanks!

How about the program for this? Using MPLAB.

I once had a commercial line follower robot kit called a Movit. It's schematic was surprisingly simple.

Two photosensors side by side, looking down at the line. Very close.

An op amp compares their volt levels.

If the right side gets darker (robot wandering to the left), the op amp turns on the left drive motor. And vice versa.

Maybe it had two op amps.

There was no equilibrium mode where equal light on the sensors made both motors drive straight. In that case only one motor was driving, a kind of 'search and acquire' mode.

You can modify performance as you wish. Example, by having both motors on to some degree.
