decoder for Reed-Solomon codes,using Berlekamp iterative algorithm

Hi, I need a program for encoding RS codes (C/C++).... have already visited eccpage.com,i know the Berlekamp iterative algorithm,but I dont undesrtand the error evaluation as explained in Lin and Costello's book,can anyone help me?
