Hi,

I am currently finishing by lighting hood for my aquarium and thought I would share my plans on here for people to cast there eyes on and make sure it is ok:

I am planning on using 36x Cree XR-E Cool White & 36x Cree XR-E Royal Blue Leds, so a total of around 72 Cree Leds, these are rated at 3.6 Volts at 700ma.

My Led matrix would be 6ft long by 1Ft wide, this would be split into 6 panels in total, each panel would have, 6 Cree XR-E Cool White and 6 Cree XR-E Royal Blue Leds in each panel, these leds would
then be attached to there own heatsink and fan, these are rated between 5w to 10w, they are around 2.17 x 2.17 Inch square with a small fan fitted, was thinking about these:

**broken link removed**

The heatsinks are pre-drilled ready for Cree Leds.

These heatsink would then be mounted into the hood with vent holes for the fans to draw cool air.

These leds would be wired in parallel with a quick blow anti-surge fuse in each panel, these would be powered with a 1amp 48V Dc 60 Watt transformers x 6

Does you think this design would work correctly or are there anything that the users of this forum would change?

Hope this explains a little to you, if not, I will try a better explantion next time

Thanks to everyone who replys.
