This originally looking light effect was made of a used bottle (in this case – a blue one). In addition, some blue LEDs and broken pieces of glass were applied. These cheap and easily available materials put together can make a unusual decoration.

What you need:
  • drill
  • soldering
  • blue bottle
  • some old jars or broken bottles
  • blue LEDs
  • cable
  • tools

Firstly, you should drill a hole in the bottle. It is important and the most difficult part of the project. Remember to do it very slowly and do not use too much force.

Once you drill the hole, remember to wash the bottle carefully.

Then connect LEDs and resistor according to the connection shown below. LEDs can be connected into combinations depending on that which power supply you are about to use.

The power cord should be put through previously made hole. Then you can check if the LEDs light correctly.

Then put the LEDs vertically in the middle of the bottle. Holding the cord, fill the bottle with fine broken glass (carefully!). Try to hide the cable that connects the LEDs.

Plug the bottle using a seal cap, turn it so that the power cord is placed in the back.
