Hi everybody. I am new here. I search the old topics but I cant find any idea about my problem.

Now, I have to implement a system such that it senses the amount of ambient illumination level and indicates it using an indicator. I want to use an array of LEDs to indicate the amount of illumination.

How can I make this circuit? Are there any book or documentary that you can suggest?

Thanks for your help..

Thanks for your reply. But I need open circuit configuration

Tandy/Radio Shack sells photo resistors. Make a bridge circuit with an op amp stage. Then you will need some comparators to detect the different voltage levels and each comparator can drive a LED.

I had just thought the same thing but I hadnt been sure of my thought. I made some circuit designs, but I wonder are there any circuit schema in some documents or someone.

Here's the circuit.

I think one LED should be enough to do the job by using a TIA. More light more current. Output higher potential.

You can built a circuit with op-amp stage and bar graph LED display IC. This you can find within this forum or enywhere else on the web..

Thanks for your posts. I made my own design. Here is the circuit. I simulate it and it works properly. I am waiting for your opininons.
