How to decide charge current of a Li-Ion battery?

Is there any calculation or ratio for safer or maximum range?

regards
Udhay

Standard Li-Ion Battery voltage 3.4 V. Current is in various range..
Its is in full charge voltage - 4.1 V . Its is in full discharge voltage - 3 V

Li-Ion charge controllers available in market. Or otherwise you can use LM317 .

you adjust the R4 pot charge current automatically change.

MUST YOU HAVE BATTERY PROTECTION CIRCUIT,

Then only you can charge the battery in safe mode..

I hope its helps you...

I am using 3.7V / 1100mAh Li-Ion battery.
To charge this battery i am using MCP73831 with input voltage of 4.3V.
For this instant i have set my charge current 500mA. I have satisfied with this current setting. I know the reduced charge current will increase the charge time & also the battery life. But i need to know how much is the recommended maximum charge current for a 1100mAh battery?

Anybody have a chart or table or formula to determine recommended charge current for different rating of battery?

Thanks & regards
Udhay

Normally maximum charge current battery at 1 C. i.e 1 hour charging...

For your battery 1100mA.

I think that is mentioned in your battery datasheet.

But we can able to charge the battery below 1 C. That spoils the battery..
