Hello,

I'm new with altium desing and i'm trying to make a footprint for Telit HE910 which in LGA package.
I tried to make its footprint with the "IPC complaint footprint wizard" but in the end it named the columns with letters and rows with numbers which is the reverse of the device footprint.
Is there a way to invert that automatically ?
Or does anyone have already made the package and happy to share it ?

thank u guys

As far as I know there is no special function for inverting the pad designators, I'm afraid you'll have to do this manually using the PCB Library editor.

A quick search in the Altium Content Vault returned me, surprisingly, a few matches for the keyword "Telit". Have you checked that the footprint you're struggling with isn't already in the Vault?

Thank you ArticCynda,
I already did and I didn't find it

In that case it will probably be faster to edit the existing footprint you made with the footprint wizard (i.e. manually mirror the pin designators) than searching through countless libraries for the correct footprint.

This is worrying from an IPC compliant tool....either the tool is flawed or ?

I've used the IPC footprint generator many times and indeed sometimes I ended up with the "wrong" footprint, but this is most likely due to erroneous input from me rather than a flawed software tool. There are simply too many options to configure, and overlooking one is sufficient to create an unusable footprint.

It will probably be quicker to reenter the data and get the pins out the right way if there is no auto renumber tool in Altium.

Just goes to show, just because it came from IPC7351 does not mean it is correct, a footprint is either right or its wrong and no PC tool is going to make them 100% correct without some knowledgeable input from the user and users often get them wrong (As I am finding out a lot eh marc! )
