LEG Soldering Technique in PCB Designs

Hi,
Does anyone has implemented leg soldering technique in your PCB designs to interconnect two PCB's (baseboard+AOB).
If so, please help me with some reference documents on PCB design considerations for leg soldering technique.

I don't believe that "leg soldering technique" is a commonly used technical term. There are different ways to mount add-on-boards, you should show a photo or sketch the mounting orientation for clarification.

I guess it would be " solder pads " in which the boundries of board is drilled with via's and in similar fashion AOB has via's in periphery both together are soldered and interfaced.
I'm attaching an image which I could find from different source, which shows board drilled on boundries for getting interconnected wth external IO's.

Are you asking about the module/add-on board or main board design?

Modules with edge solder pads are commonly used, they are reflow soldered to standard, e.g. square shaped SMT pads.

Here's the bottom view of a bluetooth module with edge solder pads. It has different mounting options, for surface mount only the "J6" pads are used.

 

Headers are normally used when inductance of pins are acceptable. Coaxial pins are possible.

What is the rise time or BW and how many interconnects.

The RF shield is normally soldered to perimeter on your example, if requred.
