LED Sequencer With 4017

I want to make an LED up/down Sequencer Using 4017+555Timer Ic. But i also need Previos LED'S active at same time.

Does this mean you want to add a bit of extended 'On' time to each led?

Something like ten of one or the other schematic below could work.

The one on the left uses no transistors but draws substantial juice from the 4017. A large capacitor is supplemented by a bit of current from the supply.

The one on the right uses a transistor and a smaller capacitor. It draws slight juice from the 4017. The transistor can be replaced by an equivalent device (digital gate, etc.)

These are ballpark values based on 10 percent duty cycle, each cycle taking 1/2 second.
