As flatulent's post.
In addition if your battery is not a 12V. nominal, you can caculate it's charging voltage as follow
Full charge is 2.3V per cell and during maintenance charge period use 2.45V. per cell
N.B. Lead acid battery's nominal voltage is 2V. per cell
Thanks for the design, but i want more cheaper solution as i will control it by mcu. Do any one have solution for chnaging Leasd acid battery with mcu.
mitesh , better but more complicated design based on mcu is availbale from atmel site application note section . Design supports multiple battery types and capacities set at compile time .
We use this power supply with backup battery for measuring data. The data comes from a sunny boy. That can record the amount of solar light, Udc Uac, P etc...
With the L200 you can define the maximum charge current en the charge voltage. The battery deliver only voltage when then net (230vac) falls away. The battery is a lead acid battery of 24V. With R5 you control the voltage, with R4 you control the current.
Hi everyone, I want a charger schematic which can charge a 35AH Lead Acid Battery (car battery). Can someone provide the working schematic? I made a charger using LM350 but it dont supply more than 150mA.
but i have some questions in mind ... what if i have a 220V/12V 10A Transformer with bridge rectifier connected to it to convert it to 12V DC and i put a 15A fuse in series and then connect it directly to the battery terminals ... what will happen?? will it start charging the 12V car battery??? I hope it will start charging the battery ... but how can i know that by connecting it this way .. how much current would flow through the battery????
