i m doing one project using 8051 microcontroller my project title is LCD based digital alarm .in normal clock we give input for switching..i decided give through voice.if i give the input is voice means the system will work on my voice data what type of hardware type i need.

Well, THAT'S an ambitious project, voice-recognition on an 8051. I hope you are getting some guidance from a professor who is smarter than me! I think the only extra hardware you are going to need is a microphone, an opamp and an analog-to-digital converter.

Good day
from what i read you will need a micro controller with DSP abilities , you will have also to either program a library for speech recognition or use a ready one that is usually not free ,i think MicroChip have them but you must buy them
hope this helps
Regards
