I would like to know which detector to be used for laser detection either by retro reflective or straight through.
Please suggest which is locally avilalble in bangalore or chennai

Thanks a lot for your reply

I do not have any idea about detector. I have not not used lasser detector so far. Please suggest and basic detector

Best is to ask Pink Panther.

Do you have maybe near hand list of stock products from local shop ?

You can use any laser detector which works and what you need.

I have gone through the link u have given. All the devices seem to be big one and costlier. I am asking about laser detector diode. Shall i use a photo transistor as a laser detector or any specific diode available for this. I need its number which is available locally

You can make DIY home very cheap laser detector with photo transistor, optocoupler, one transistor, resistor and cheap chinese laser pointer.

Can you provide me some link

If you could add some more information as to what exactly you are looking for, more specific and useful solutions are likely to appear.
What wavelength at least approx region.
What power range ( crude approx)
Application (qualitative idea)
Some one may suggest you photon counting assembly costing several tens of thousands !!! but may be it is not what you are looking for.
