If you have a lamp display circuit board which takes 5 VAC at 400hz.

Can you power the lamps display circuit board at 5 VAC at 60hz?

What is the difference between lamps rated at 5VAC at 400hz compared to 5VAC at 60hz? is it the filaments or the light brightness is dimmer?

If the Lamps are wired in series or parallel can you put the a 5VAC power supply across the lamp directing on the circuit traces to check each lamp one by one? in series it will damage the lamps?

Or does the power supply need a series resistor to protect the lamps from demanding?

An incandescent light bulb filament is simply a length of tungsten wire in a vacuum. It is a resistor that does not burn because there is no oxygen and the tungsten melts at a much higher temperature.
A powerful light bulb filament has a fairly high mass so it takes time to heat up or cool down.

6VAC has exactly the same average power as 6VDC so an incandescent 6V light bulb will have exactly the same brightness. At 400Hz you will not see flickering but if the light bulb is low power then it can heat up and cool down quicker so at 60Hz you might see it flickering a bit.

If lamps are in parallel then powering only one will light all of them. A series resistor is not needed if you do not apply more voltage than the light bulb rating.

Are the lamps filament lamps? Incandescent lamps?

I think they are incandescent lamps, they have a filament

What would be the difference when powering them up this way between the two?

What two? 400Hz or 60Hz? I told you that they will have exactly the same brightness if the voltages are the same. But if they are low power and heat up or cool down quickly then you might see them flickering a little on 60Hz.

Did you call yourself Walters a few years ago? Then recently Billy, Danny, a few more names and now PrescottDan and stanleystan?
