I am having a question that

Given a pair of sequence, use discrete convolution to find the response to the input x[n] of the linear time invariant system with impulse response h[n]

x[n]= [1 1 1 1 0 0 1 1 10 0]
y[n]= [1 1 0 1]

compute the convolution of two finite length sequences

what i have to do.
simple convolution of x and y is required or i also have to calculate h[n]

i am confused abt h[n] in this question

Plz explain me

Stated differently, h[n] is the transfer function (impulse response) of the system. If you know the input of the system, x[n] and the output of the system y[n], how can you characterize the system? In other words, what is the impulse response of the system, h[n]?

x[n] * h[n] = y[n]
h[n] = ???

most likely they have a typo. the text calls out x[n], and h[n], and is phrased to sound like you should solve for y[n]. But then the values given are x[n], y[n]. I think its likely the y[n] should be h[n].

Yes permute thanks
It was typo thats wy i was confused. Actuallt yn is h[n]
