Hai

I want to programe Keil MCB2130 board from uVision 3 software.

I know for debugging we require Ulink or Nlink with keil.

But for just programming flash of 2130 we can do it with a JTAG.

Is my information correct?

If so please link me the schematics to connect keil and MCB2130 board to flash it.

Thanks

Hai
Thanks a lot.

So I understand that for just programming MCB2130 we dont require wiggler JTAG.

I am going to try that.

btw what about that NLink from thaiwan for Keil. Is it ok and worth as a debugger?

Also what are the practical limitations for uVision 3 demo? Can I use it to learn ARM?

I have only demo version of that

Thanks a lot

mcb2130 programer

Keil uVision3 demo version supports upto 16k hex code.
one more drawback is most of the opensource code availabale in the Net is for
gnuarm. So setup your gnuarm tool chain.

mcb2130 code

Hai

Thanks for the hints.

can you give some details on how to set up what you call gnuarm tool chain?

Will that be installed and maintained along with keil. Something about that in Keil CD.
I think keil comes with a gnu also. But debugger wont allow above 16 k .right?

I am about to purchase a Ulink clone called Nlink. So some how I have to manage keil.

Use In-System Flash Programming (ISP) mode with NXP LPC2000 Flash Utility => https://www.keil.com/support/man/docs/mcb2130/mcb2130_fp_flash_utility.htm

For your information..

The flash utility posted at that link is not supporting MCB2130 board.it is old one version 2.2.0. We have to get version 2.2.1 or 2.2.3. That was no where on that links .

But philips has literally hidden that new flash utility in MCu pages.

I entered through Microcntroller pages and looked for supporting documents for LPC2138. it was there. version 2.2.3

Thanks again.

Hi,

looking for information on microcontrollers on the NXP (formerly Philips) website please start with this link:
**broken link removed**

For LPC2000 you can go as well to this link:
**broken link removed**

Last but not least, to get continues upgrades on the programming routines for LPC2000 you want to start using FlashMagic. Philips and now NXP have supported and enabled FlashMagic for many years, first for the 8-bit Flash Microcontrollers and for about half a year for the LPC2000 as well:
https://www.flashmagictool.com/

Hope this will help you find things faster in the future.
