jost a note on FPM

Hej all

I have been using FPM for a while now and its a great program, but i will note though that is does not produce IPC footprints. FPMs footprints are generally bigger than specified in IPC standard.

On the other hand they do fit nicely for the componnets in use and you never get any complaints from the mounting people. Also it's an extremly fast way to create a footprint.

I use this program to compare FPMs footprints with the IPC standard. It's free you just have to register:

Re: jost a note on FPM

There is a setting in FPM that you can select between three options of IPC sizes.

allthough they claim otherwise. PCBMatrix might loose support for Allegro as it is owned by Mentor now.

PCBMatrix have flaws as well, be aware of that, it is NOT all perfect.

You might loose support for the PCBmatrix wizard as it creates the symbols but the calculator will still work as it is the IPC 7351 calculator not just specifically PCB matrix calculator
