Hi guys.
I opened an 9V Battery and it had some orange liquid in it. some of it touched my hand. is it ok? + and i have like small Skin peeling (not too deep just a little bit).
sorry for really bad english. :D

There are many different kinds of 9V batteries:
carbon-zinc, manganese dioxide, alkaline, Lithium, Ni-Cad and Ni-MH. Which one did you open?

Whenever you get a chemical on your hands then you should wash the hands as soon as is possible with soap and water.

"Super Heavy Duty" uses the chemical manganese dioxide. In Google it is said to stain human skin. Other chemicals in the battery might damage your skin.
DO NOT eat the battery.

All my alkali-manganese batteries have warning text on the packing, most even on the battery case:
- Do not throw in fire!
- Do not recharge!
- Do not open!

Why is it so?

Some old 9V batteries had six AAAA cells inside. There are videos in Google showing them opened and nothing leaked.

I have never blown up a battery but I have exploded a few large electrolytic capacitors with reversed voltage.

I used to open up 9V batteries to get the AAA (AAAA?) cells. I tried assembling them into inexpensive 4.5V batteries (for calculators, computer boards, etc.)

After a while (weeks, months), the cells would pop apart. It sounded like a firecracker. They are under internal pressure, yet they have no rigid casing to hold them together (as store-bought cells have). Fortunately no liquid oozed out, just some black particles.

That made me realize it was folly for me to open up 9V batteries.

I forgot.
About 53 years ago I made chasers with 10 neon bulbs, resistors and capacitors. They were powered by a 90V battery. I cast the entire circuit including the battery in clear plastic and they looked great. The first one exploded because the battery had no vent hole.
