I new in wimax i just starter in WIMAX please is there any good simulator for desinging wimax and good information, such as site survey planing.

Which kind of simulator do you need, if it's just for numerical simultion you can use matlab, and you can find many example on central matlab, and if it's on fpga work you have to make choice with the vendor you use. But if you beging I think that you to learn about OFDM system design.

Go on central matlab you can find simulator, but you will not understand how he run if you don't know about wimax phy.

Hello ayemen,

AWR Visual System Simulator (VSS) 2007 is a communication system simulator software includes a new mobile WiMAX solution that meets the specification defined in the wireless metropolitan area network (WirelessMAN) orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) physical layer (PHY) of the IEEE 802.16e-2005 Air Interface. In addition, it compliments the IEEE 802.16d WirelessMAN-OFDM PHY fixed-wireless solution previously released by AWR.

The solution enables RF and baseband system-on-chip (SoC) designers, component suppliers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), user equipment companies, and infrastructure and network equipment providers to capture the specifications and accurately simulate their designs to ensure they meet the conformance tests specified in the 802.16 standard. The solution contains all bit-level processing defined in the 802.16e specifications, as well as the receiver functionality and the ability to incorporate circuit and RF interactions.

I need a help regarding my MS thesis. I have read few papers on Wimax Handover.And decided to work on wimax handover. But still i am not getting any idea on which specific topic i should work. Also i dont know how to use matlab. I have to learn it as well. Also want to know can we do wimax handover related work in Matlab? Please help me as i have short time.
