hello,
what is a device layer???
i have a device layer called RFDEF

in my EXTdiva, rul file i found:

"attention use RFDEF as device layer"

so, is this a device or what?????

in LSW ---> edit ---> display Resource Editor

then i saw on the left "layers"
and below it two choises:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
All
LSW
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
it was LSW and so no RFDEF layer
when i check All, i see RFDEF layer

but i can't use the "All" option
what i have done is right or what?
and how to use "All" option??

Check the PDK and read the Design Rules, the definition of every layers must be listed there.
Good luck!

You can add the RFDEF layer into your LSW by using the "Set Valid Layers" and then save this to a file named (for instance) "myLSW".
This way, you don't need to add ALL to have your FRDEF available and next time you open Cadence you can load that file and teh LSW will be customized under your request. Obviously you can do it with many other layers you want to Include or Exclude from your standard LSW.
If you're kind of familiar with SKILL code, something additional you and do is to include the "load" sentence into your cds.init file. That way you won't need to manually load your custom LSW all the time...
