Hi,
Is there a possibility of having a antenna with Bandwidth from 80MHz to 2GHz. If it is available, a single antenna may be able to provide for may applications.

a spiral antenna can have that kind of bandwidth. The spiral antennas have many form such as muti-arm. You may also try log-periodic antenna. it may work.

Does a planar spiral antenna can have good character from 80MHz to 2GHz ?Could you introduce any documents on it ?
Thanks!

There is an example of spiral antenna for windband use.It covers from 2G to 6G.It may useful for you.
You may look into the book, its name is somelike " the spiral and helix antenna".(I am not sure about it)
Good luck.
What type of polarization do you need? Spiral antennas are very broad band but they have circular polarization. Most applications use linear polarization and I think vivaldi antennas have the best bandwidth in this case.
Hi to all,
some notes:
1- Vivaldi antennas have a BIG dimension in low frequency, and its pattern, limit frequency bandwidth to 4:1.
2- Spiral antennas without any loading, have dimention about Lambda/4.
3- Log-Periodic antennas have dimension similar Spiral, but can design to be dual linear polarized.
I designed spiral and LogPer with 9:1 frequency bandwidth.( 2-18GHz)
