Is it required to generate SDF file in magma???

Hi,
Magma has inbuilt sta timing engine.Is it required to generate sdf file even in this flow.What is the difference in timing analysis done using sdf file and using the built in timer ?

I don't it is necessary to generate SDF file to do STA, but it will be necessary if you want to perform dynamic simulations.
 

Can you do sta without SDF?
 

Hi,

I think the both STA and dynamic simulation are very important, so you do better to generate the SDF.
 

SDF or some other RC extraction files are needed by primetime to sign off the design.
It MUST be provided.
