In most cases you can treat this as a reference only but it may be very helpful in identifying I2C devices ..
That is not exactly what I asked for.
I mean - if I know that the I2C address of a unknown IC is , for example BAh, then I need to know the name of that IC.
Because the name of the IC is scratched out from the surface of the IC itself.
That means , I need a list which could show, that , for examle, I2C address BAh corresponds to the IC MC44011 by Motorola.
And so on.
Unfortunatelly list of detailed description of I2C devices does not exist.
Addresses describe only families of devices but not a particular IC.
Bear in mind that some of I2C devices have additional address lines which are defined by the user ..

They claim they have a list of over 1300 unique addresses of I2C devices.
On the above page you will find a box in which you have to type a name of an I2C device and in return you will receive its unique address .. worth trying, don't you think?
This list will not iclude hundreds of EEPROM types as they have a common address pattern oh 010AAA0 ..
