Is it dangerous and disastrous for a 3 phase induction motor connected and controlled via VFD that VFD is generating triangular and/or distorted waveform output rather than PWM output waveform ?

Not really, because of the inductive nature of the motor, most of the high frequency voltages result in none or at least little current flowing at these high frequencies. Most VFDs put a PWM pulse wave form across the motor with a carrier frequency of > 5 KHZ.

my mean is to ask if there's a problem inside the VFD (that instead of generating PWM output if its generating distorted PWM or generating triangular waveform) then would it damage the motor ?
