Is borrowing/lending EDA software legal?

Our company has purchased some EDA tools which were not being used for now. I was wondering if we can rent the software to some other companies that is in need of this?

Anyone know the legal procedures to do this?
Do we have to let the original EDA tool vendor know about this?
Is there a general guideline, or each tool vendor has their own specific rules that were stated in their license agreement?

Thx for any input, any lawyer around in this forum?
 

You will have to read the license agreement. Sometimes they say to install in on just one computer. They do not say who can use the computer. Other agreements say several computers as long as they are only used one at a time.
