IR transmitter and reciever schematics

I don't know if this post is in the right forum spot, meh.I will trying this out tommorow to find its range but im guessing 3 to 9 feet and by the way if you add a headphone jack to the transmitter (also available from radio shack) you can hook it up to a CD player,TV,computer,stereo etc...

It should be fine for that range for a wireless computer headphone.The infrared transmitter and reciever bulbs are from radio shack I can't remember the part number but its the only one they have sold together.Add another transistor and a batter if you get low range.Tell me if it works and if so waht kind of transistors you used.
